Stuart F. Griffin is an American author whose literary works are deeply influenced by his Christian faith, personal experiences, and a profound appreciation for history. A native of Southern California, Griffin spent his early years in the Los Angeles area. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he traveled extensively across Europe and the United States, journeys that ignited his enduring passion for American history, particularly the westward expansion and the era of mountain men. Eventually, he settled in Vermont, where he lived, worked, and raised a family, before dividing his time between New England and Florida in his later years .

Griffin’s debut novel, Northbound (2011), is a historical fiction set in 1853 Northern California, focusing on themes of faith, perseverance, and love. The story follows Will Jacobs, whose life is upended when his wife, Emma, is kidnapped, prompting a perilous journey to rescue her. 

The sequel, The Territory (2017), continues the saga of the Tanger family, delving deeper into the challenges and moral dilemmas of frontier life .
